Hub Cymru Africa is Wales’ leading international development and global solidarity organisation. We were formed in April 2015 to bring together the work of the Welsh Centre for International Affairs, Fair Trade Wales, the Wales and Africa Health Links Network and the Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel. We support organisations across Wales to build sustainable links and projects in partnership with organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Last year, we started a new strategy, building on what we learned over the previous seven years. We went through a collective process to articulate what’s important and what we want to achieve next. This year, we are embedding our new strategy, and looking for opportunities to realise our ambitions. We are a small and motivated partnership, so we need someone who can commit both time and energy to a unique role. You will work with the Head of Partnership and the Partnership Board, made up of representatives from all of our partners.
Currently, the partnership board comprises of two trustees from each participating organisation and is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of a programme of activities in support of international development initiatives in Wales. The working of the board is outlined in a detailed partnership agreement document signed by all parties. In particular, the partnership agreement outlines the specific functions of the Chair to:

Due to the independent nature of this position, the Partnership Board is not able to consider applications from people who have been staff or trustees of any of the partner organisations listed above within the last 2 years, or from groups receiving funding from any of these organisations. The person is also required to be independent of Welsh Government as the principle donor to the Partnership.
