Hub Cymru Africa is a partnership supporting the Wales Africa Community, bringing together the work of the Wales and Africa Health Links Network, the Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel, the Welsh Centre for International Affairs and Fair Trade Wales.

We represent the global solidarity sector in Wales.

Hub Cymru Africa is supported by the Welsh Government and is legally hosted by the Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel in Cardiff.

The Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel is the data controller and Hub Cymru Africa is the data processor.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have signed up to receive our email updates.
  • You have registered to attend one of our in-person or online events.
  • You have visited and interacted with our website.
  • You have received support from our Development Support Managers.
  • You are a public figure and we have sourced your information from publicly available sources.

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

  • Identify and grow the Wales and Africa Community and the Welsh Global Solidarity sector.
  • Monitor the extent to which Hub Cymru Africa engages with people with disabilities or are from minoritised communities.
  • Monitor the extent to which Hub Cymru Africa caters to the needs of the Wales and Africa Community and the Welsh global solidarity sector.
  • Advocate for and represent the global solidarity sector in Wales with domestic political stakeholders and with organisational partners in the The UK Alliance of National Networks for International Development and the European Network for Citizen Initiatives for Global Solidarity.
  • Use the following organisational information to map the Wales and Africa Community and publish this on our website and share with key stakeholders such as the Welsh Government, the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, other politicians and the UK Alliance:

5. Your right to object to processing

You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
