International speakers, indigenous leaders and campaigners, will gather in Cardiff on Monday 2 November to explore how Wales is building a fairer and safer world.
Wales’ flagship global solidarity event, the Global Solidarity Ffair 2026, will bring together people working across climate action, social justice and international development for a day of discussion, learning and collaboration.
Hosted at Cardiff University Students’ Union from 10:30am to 5pm, the Ffair will feature an exhibition of over 30 organisations from across the country, alongside seminars, workshops and panels.
Among the keynote speakers is Mpho Tutu van Furth, priest, writer, campaigner and daughter of the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who will speak about the African philosophy of Ubuntu and its message of “shared humanity”.
The event will also welcome Ju Kerexu and Vilma Verá Rios, Guaraní Indigenous leaders from Brazil, who will share their experiences of defending their land from deforestation and safeguarding the lungs of the earth. Sioned Williams MS, Deputy First Minister of Wales and Cabinet Minister for Social Justice and Equality, will also be speaking about Wales’ place in the world and meeting exhibitors at the Ffair.
With twenty sessions comprising introductory workshops, in-depth seminars and engaging panel discussions, attendees are able to learn about a wide range of topics including Fair Trade, climate action, global health, disability inclusive development, the Nation of Sanctuary and a whole host of contemporary social justice issues such as Palestine, the orphanage crisis and global politics.
The event marks a change from the traditional conference format, creating a lively space for people to connect, exchange ideas and build support for international development and global solidarity.
The Global Solidarity Ffair takes place on Monday 2 November 2026, from 10:30am to 5pm, at Cardiff Students’ Union.
