Introduction to Action Learning Sets

Action Learning Sets (ALS) are a simple and powerful way for practitioners in global solidarity to work collaboratively on challenges facing them in their work.

In 2023, Hub Cymru Africa piloted an ALS with participants from six organisations from the Wales and Africa community.

We repeated the ALS in 2024-25 with a further six organisations, including partners from African countries.

The evaluations found that the ALS process was highly valued by participants in offering a confidential, safe environment to share common challenges, gain other perspectives from experienced peers, and build confidence in their own approach.

We are now launching a new Action Learning Set starting February 2026 and invite you to join your peers and gain experience of a tool which you can use throughout your professional life.

We are running a one hour information session on Thursday 29th January 12:00 – 13:00 GMT to introduce the ALS  framework and answer your questions.
