International Learning Opportunities Programme

The International Learning Opportunities programme (ILO) provides a unique opportunity to spend 8 weeks in Lesotho, Namibia or Uganda.

We source a wide range of projects with a diverse group of established partners in these three very different countries.

The ILO programme aims to improve the social, environmental and economic wellbeing of both sub-Saharan Africa and Wales through a variety of mutually beneficial projects, in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The ILO programme gives individuals from the public, business and third sectors in Wales the opportunity to work on projects designed to both enhance their leadership skills and deliver a developmental outcome for their hosts. The opportunities listed illustrate placements requested but other opportunities may also be available. Overall, we conduct about 10 placements a year and would not expect to deploy more than one person to an organisation at a time. This scheme is open to anyone who lives or works in Wales. We are particularly interested to receive applications from members of the African diaspora.
