Mountain regions of the East African Community (DRC, Somalia, Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania) and the South Caucasus (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia)
Grant Size:
Up to USD $30,000.
Eligibility:
Locally based, formally registered civil society/community-based organisations (preferably grassroots, youth, or women's organisations) with prior direct experience working with mountain communities in the benefiting countries. Applicants must have an organisational bank account and submit a registration certificate.

Small grants for nature-based solutions to help mountain communities respond to climate change impacts. Examples include ecosystem restoration, rainwater harvesting, climate-smart agriculture, disaster preparedness, income diversification. Selected organisations also get capacity-building and training support.

Grant size:

Up to USD $30,000. Funds may be used to cover a wide range of eligible expenses, including staff and hired experts’ salaries, equipment and materials, training and capacity-building activities, operational and administrative costs and other project-related expenses directly tied to implementation.
