We will welcome an expert panel of speakers who are doing incredible work in Wales and Africa for climate justice:
Originally from Cameroon, Dr Chi Fru is a Senior Lecturer in Geomicrobiology and a Reader in Earth Sciences at Cardiff University and is an expert in the ocean-atmosphere system.
Steve Sodzi is currently chair of Caendon in Llandudno and a project manager supporting projects in Kenya and Ghana which support sustainable development and alleviating poverty such as sustainable coffee growing.
Sanab Hersi is a law graduate and environmental activist who has retrained in permaculture (the study of sustainable land management) and has set up a local gardening group in Grangetown, Cardiff called Green Soul Garden. The group’s mission is to provide opportunities and create safe spaces for people of colour to engage in forms of personal growth.
Ize is a Nigerian born soil & environmental scientist, a climate change mitigation researcher, educator & public health advocate. A doctoral researcher in Bangor University, Ize is the co-lead of 3rd Sector Support Africa (3SA); a Strategy, Development & Support organisation dedicated to providing innovative & sustainable solutions to players in the third sector across thematic areas. She is a passionate advocate for the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals. Some of her research has focused on exploring the circular nutrient economy across waste management and agriculture. Ize is affiliated with the Nigeria Climate Innovation Centre (NCIC), a member of the North Wales Africa Society (NWAS) and a Climate Cymru Ambassador.
This 75-minute online panel event will take you on a journey of how global solidarity and climate action are connected and demonstrate that climate action is for everyone.
