Focus on Family Care: Building a movement for change

In July, SWIDN, Hub Cymru Africa, and Hope and Homes for Children organised a collaborative, open-access online event focused on care for marginalised children. This was an event designed to connect and support UK charities and donors working with at-risk children internationally, while prompting conversations around best practice and hearing from the UK Government on their campaign for family care.

This event is a follow up to the July webinar. Designed to encourage organisations to continue the conversation, we are keen to build a movement around enabling family-based care for children and shifting historical practice away from institutionalised responses to marginalised children. This event will again be a free, online and pen access event for charities, donors and international development practitioners, featuring stories from those with lived experience, and practical, accessible guidance to support your organisation’s journey.

Whether you’re just starting to think about transitioning away from the use of orphanages or are already working in the child protection space, join us to learn, connect, and help build a future where every child grows up in the care of a family.
