Volant Charitable Trust

Type of project: Projects should fall under one of the three following categories. The first of these is “Women” which concerns victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence, and those working in the sex industry, care for young mothers and those affected by postnatal depression, community support for black and minority ethnic women and asylum seekers and support services for women prisoners and their families. The second category is “Children and Young People” which includes counselling, outreach projects for those who are disadvantaged or deemed to be at risk through neglect, emotional and physical abuse, and alcohol or drug misuse. The third category is “Poverty and Deprivation” which focusses on mental health projects, support for vulnerable families, and promotion of healthy eating for families in areas of extreme deprivation. The trust is mainly deals with Scottish organisations but will sometimes make donations overseas.

Location: Scotland and worldwide

Eligibility: Registered charities, community interest companies, and community organisations.

Grant size: Up to £45,000
