UKRI & FCDO – Applied global health research: stage one

Type of project:  Research projects that will lead to tangible change in health policy and practice in the near future through practical, impact focused research. We are committed to strengthening research capacity within low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and the UK. All applicants are required to develop plans to strengthen research capacity within their application.

Location: We encourage applications from project leads based in: low and middle-income countries (LMICs) and the UK working in equitable partnership with LMIC researchers.

Eligibility: To be eligible you must: be based at either an eligible UK research organisation, or based in a: research organisation in a low or middle-income country with degree-awarding powers recognised by the government in which the organisation is based; research-focused institute based in an LMIC either funded by the government of the country in which the organisation is based, or by a not-for-profit organisation;
research-focused not-for-profit organisation based in an LMIC with dedicated research capacity.

Grant size:   £150,000 – £2,000,000
