Project Description

The Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Programme 

Type of project: Their focus areas of work include: (1) biodiversity; (2) climate change (incl. mitigation and adaptation); (3) land degradation; (4) sustainable forest management; (5) international waters; and (6) chemicals. Small grant projects are given to non-governmental organizations in developing countries for community-based projects to demonstrate and achieve more sustainable livelihoods while achieving global environmental benefits.

Location: Developing countries worldwide

Eligibility: National community-based organizations (CBOs) and non-governmental organizations (NGOs)

Grant size:  Up to US$50,000. Averages around US$25,000.
