Project Description
Open Philanthropy´s Cause Exploration Prizes
Type of project: We’re most interested in responses to our open prompt: “What new cause area should Open Philanthropy consider funding?” We believe it’s important for philanthropists to make deliberate, long-term commitments to causes. Examples include reducing the harm associated with poor air quality in South Asia, preventing pandemics and improving biosecurity, or increasing the total size and effectiveness of global aid. However, our other prompts are equally eligible for prizes, and may be especially interesting to people with prior knowledge in a relevant area. These include questions on health, development, and worldview investigations.
Location: Worldwide
Eligibility: Eligibility is open to anyone over the age of 18 that does not live in countries or jurisdictions that prohibit such contests by law or are based in a US-sanctioned country.
Prize: $200 – $25,000
Closing date: 4 August
