National Institute for Health Research – Research and Innovation for Global Health Transformation 

Type of project:  This call will support targeted research to strengthen health service delivery and resilience in the context of extreme weather events caused by the changing climate. The strategic aims are to: Deliver applied health research for the direct and primary benefit to LMICs, typically through research in key thematic areas for the prevention of ill health and optimal disease management; Strengthen capacity for research and knowledge exchange through equitable partnerships between researchers and institutions involved in the research; Promote interdisciplinary approaches to working (including, but not limited to: clinical medicine, health economics, statistics, qualitative and social sciences), to ensure that research objectives can be delivered; Generate new research knowledge and evidence on interventions to improve health outcomes of people in LMICs.

Location: Low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) on the ODA DAC-list

Eligibility: open to lead applicants from UK or LMIC institutions.

Grant size:  £1-3 million over 3-5 years
