Guernsey Overseas Aid Commission Multiyear Grant Aid Award

Type of project:  Projects which will help to provide the basic needs of the world’s least developed countries or to help the indigenous population to provide those needs. Basic needs include medical and health facilities, educational programmes and facilities, housing, water and sanitation provision and the means of sustaining a living, e.g. through agriculture, horticulture or through training in sustainable employment skills. The Commission supports projects which will generate a lasting and sustainable improvement in the living conditions for the communities receiving the aid.

Location: Countries in the lowest quartile of the UN Human Development Index. A full list of eligible countries can be seen on page 15-6 of this document.

Eligibility: The Commission now requires all charities wishing to apply for funding in the 2022 grant aid funding round to be either a charitable incorporated organisation or charitable company. The applicant must have been registered for at least 5 years prior to applying for funding; successfully completed at least 2 projects funded by the Commission in the preceding 5 years; and have an average annual income in each of the 4 years preceding the application of more than £350,000.

Grant size:  up to £150,000 over 3 years
