Grand Challenges Canada – Country Innovation Platform Ghana Pilot 

Type of project:  Bold ideas to support Ghana’s ambition to increase access to quality maternal and neonatal health (MNH) services. These innovative solutions are expected to improve patient referrals, increase accessibility & availability of patient transport, improve delivery of quality emergency MNH services, and/or increase availability of essential MNH medicines and supplies. This will support Ghana’s ultimate goal of reducing maternal, perinatal and neonatal morbidities and mortalities, reducing direct obstetric case fatality rates, and reducing the rate of stillbirths.

Location: Ghana – Western, Upper East, Upper West, North East, Northern, and Savannah regions

Eligibility: Organizations incorporated in North, West, East, Central and Southern Africa are eligible to apply, as well as Canadian institutions. We encourage locally-led organizations who are meaningfully connected with the communities they are looking to work with and for to apply. We also want to particularly encourage entities based in Ghana, and organizations led by women to apply.

Grant size:  CAD $200,000 – $250,000
