The next instalment in our Springboard series of free online courses is delivered in collaboration with our partner Sub-Sahara Advisory Panel.
The Springboard courses will provide you with support to increase your organisation’s knowledge and improve its practices in project development and delivery. You will also be able to access resources and tools to support your growth.
Each course will require a time commitment of 20 hours over eight weeks for you to get the most out of your learning. The course is made up of three live sessions and four workbooks to complete in your own time. The 90-minute live sessions will occur once per month and will give participants an opportunity to delve deeper into the workbook topics and facilitate discussions to help develop action points, based on learning, specific to areas of work.
Partners in Wales and Africa are welcome to join. You will need stable access to the internet as the course is delivered through our website and in Zoom Meetings.
The Power and Privilege course will include:
- An overview of power within the global solidarity sector and the face of privilege within traditional aid and development by exploring its history and present legacy (covered in workbook 1 and live session 2)
- Power structures and the ways in which they intersect and amplify oppression as well as how this manifests within global solidarity sector (covered in workbook 2 and live session 2)
