This training is for staff, volunteers and trustees of organisations working in partnership in the Wales and Africa sector, who want to improve their safeguarding policy and practices.
This refresher training is for those who have completed a Safeguarding training with Hub Cymru Africa (or equivalent) more than 2 years ago, or those who have previously completed a training and simply want to refresh and deepen their knowledge.
The training will allow participants to take a more in depth look at:
- How to handle an incident: response, reporting
- Safeguarding focal points, recruitment and role
- Co-production with partners and communities – things to consider
- Key documents – what do you have in place now? What do you need?
There will also be an opportunity to share experience, ask questions, and find out where to go for further resources.
Organisations who are applying for the Welsh Government/WCVA Wales Africa funding stream need to have completed a Safeguarding training (Essentials, or Refresher) in the last 2 years to be eligible for a grant.
For people who have not yet completed an HCA Safeguarding training course- please register for Safeguarding Essentials on Tuesday 13th July 2021.
