This session is the first of two live online workshops designed for those coming back to volunteering or who are new to International Development / Global Solidarity work.
This first session is an introduction to some key themes to consider when working or volunteering with partners overseas, with a focus on Sub-Saharan African countries:
- A brief history of international development and an introduction to the term “Global Solidarity”
- Some examples of poor practice in projects and what to avoid
- Volunteering and good practice.
The session is free and will be two hours long. It is open to trustees, volunteers and students.
