“They are not our stories to tell”
Part of Reframing the Narrative project
We all have a right to dignity and respect. Sometimes, images and stories used to promote the work of charities do not tell a story that our partners recognise as their own experience.
Join us as we continue our anti-racism journey through ‘Reframing the Narrative’ project at this free online event.
The event is open to volunteers, trustees or staff of organisations based in Wales working in global solidarity and their international partners.
Through this shared learning event; we will look at three case studies to consider how we can better work to support partners to tell their stories in their own words. This will be an open session where attendees will have an opportunity to share thoughts and learn together with others.
- Purple Field: Equipping people to tell their own stories
- Teams4U: Doing things differently
- Justice Kalebe: Local talent and creating space with communities
We will ask ourselves:
“What changes do we want to see across the sector to how stories are told?” And “What can we do differently in our own organisations?”
